ABOUT
Liza Butts (B. 1993), Birmingham, Alabama is a graduate of Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She has participated in residencies at Brooklyn Arts Space, the New York Arts Practicum, and In Cahoots in Petaluma, CA. She was a YoungArts Project Grant Recipient, and more recently an Alabama State Council on the Arts Visual Arts Fellow. She has worked at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop in NYC. Her work has been featured in publications like New American Paintings and on PBS in a short documentary filmed by Alabama Public TV. Butts’ work has been exhibited at the Joel and Lila Harnett Museum of Art in Richmond, VA, the LaGrange Art Museum in LaGrange, Georgia, the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC, Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, the Wiregrass Museum, and Maus Contemporary among others. She lives and works in Birmingham, AL.
